Kalu, in a statement on Tuesday, described the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet as enduring examples of compassion, humility, tolerance, kindness and peaceful coexistence.
He urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on these virtues and continue to uphold them in their daily lives and relationships with others.
The former Senate Chief Whip also called on Nigerians to strengthen the bonds of unity and extend kindness and fellowship to those in need, irrespective of faith, tribe or background.
“The life and teachings of the Holy Prophet remain a profound example of compassion, humility, tolerance, kindness and peaceful coexistence. As we mark this important occasion, I encourage our Muslim brothers and sisters to continue to uphold these noble virtues in their daily lives and relationships with others.
“At this time, let us strengthen the bonds that unite us as Nigerians, show kindness to our neighbours and extend a hand of fellowship to those in need, irrespective of faith, tribe or background,” Kalu said.
He prayed for peace in homes and communities across the country and for a renewed collective commitment towards building a more united and prosperous Nigeria.
“May this celebration bring peace to our homes and communities and renew our collective commitment to a more united and prosperous Nigeria.
“Eid-el-Maulud Mubarak,” he added.
