In a recent meeting at his Abuja residence, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu warmly received the youthful Governor of Niger state, Alhaji Umar Bago, and his son Yazeed Umar Bago.
The Senator expressed his pleasure in meeting the Governor and commended his efforts in changing the narrative in Niger state.
Senator Kalu recognized Governor Bago’s transformative leadership and congratulated him for his positive impact on the state.
During the same time, Senator Kalu also extended his warm congratulations to the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), General Mohammed Buba Marwa, on his well-deserved reappointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Senator praised General Marwa’s exceptional courage, discipline, and patriotism in leading Nigeria’s fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse.
He lauded the Chairman’s transformational leadership at the NDLEA, citing record drug seizures, thousands of arrests, and nationwide anti-drug campaigns as evidence of his dedication to protecting the nation’s youth.
Kalu emphasized that General Marwa’s renewed mandate is a strong vote of confidence in his outstanding performance and commended President Tinubu for prioritizing competence and continuity in the reappointment.

In addition to the meeting with Governor Umar Bago and his son, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu also made a significant contribution at the Public Hearing on two critical bills at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
The bills in question were the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (Amendment) Bill, 2025 (SB. 599) and the National Insurance Commission (Repeal) and Insurance Regulatory Commission Bill, 2025 (SB. 394), which were being reviewed by the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions.
