If you don’t see Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as a seasoned politician and good party man who places the interest of his party far above personal relationship from the statement Mr.Peter Obi made, then it’s either you are politically naive or you have deep seated hatred for Sen.Kalu.
Even Mr.Peter Obi who made the statement had in mind to buttress the point that he has respect for Orji Uzor Kalu as a politician who cannot be compromised irrespective of whoever that is involved; and Obi said that to mean that he appreciated the stands of Sen.Kalu and has no problems with that.
Moreover, people should try to read the contextual meaning of any statement, and not judging it based on a particular phrase there in. If you watched the interview where Mr.Peter Obi made that statement, he was trying to answer the question of how will he treat opposition if he becomes the president of Nigeria. And he sited the incident that involved Sen.Kalu.
How is this betrayal?. Maybe you lack understanding. Orji Uzor Kalu went to Anambra to participate in his parties campaign and decided to visit the siting governor and you said it’s betrayal. Who did Orji Uzor betray in all of this. Is Peter Obi his enemy?. Kalu should be applauded because he is not seeing politics as war. Orji Uzor was sincere to say his mind unlike many others like Wike who would give you assurance and betrayal comes at last.
What is bad about him having another choice to support, Kalu is too honest that he never denies his preferred candidate, so he want a sugarcoated man who will come and tell him he was already a winner when actually he supporting another candidate.
