Senior Pastor of Kingly People’s Assembly, Bishop Silas Eke, has cautioned the people of Ohafia, Nkporo, and the entire Abia North Senatorial District against supporting the senatorial ambition of Chief David Ogba Onuoha, popularly known as Bourdex.

Bishop Eke said Bourdex’s political history shows a man driven by clannish interest, who is unfit to represent the whole of Abia North.

He recalled that during his tenure as Mayor of Ohafia Local Government, “everything he did was Abiriba-centred,” leaving other communities sidelined.

The cleric further alleged that Bourdex polarised his own clan, caused divisions among leaders, and failed to demonstrate the temperament needed for leadership.

“He could not manage disagreements or build unity among his people. Instead, he fanned the flames of division. Someone who cannot hold his own clan together has no business representing a whole senatorial district,” Bishop Eke said.

He also accused the Abiriba-born politician of once again showing bias in the ongoing voter registration exercise, mobilising only his Abiriba kinsmen while leaving out other communities in the senatorial zone.

“Ohafia and Nkporo, alongside other communities in Abia North will not support a man like Bourdex. Someone who thinks only of his own people and has no regard for others. Let him bury that senatorial ambition,” Bishop Eke declared.

In a strong message to the state leadership, Bishop Eke advised Governor Alex Otti to “ignore people like Bourdex” in the political equation.

“Governor Otti should not allow clannish politicians to derail his reform agenda. Abia North already has a ranking senator in Orji Uzor Kalu who is doing a very good job at the national level. OUK has brought visibility and projects to our zone; That is the kind of leadership we need, not someone who will divide us further,” he stressed.

According to the fiery cleric, Abia North needs “a bridge-builder, a leader with calmness and maturity, not a polarising figure with no control over his temperament.”
