In a strong show of support, Professor Kalu Ukairo, a respected scholar and community leader from Ohafia Local Government Area, has declared that the entire Abia North Senatorial District will compel Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to run again in 2027.
Ukairo’s statement comes in response to Senator Kalu’s recent remarks, where he emphasized his current focus on delivering democratic dividends to the people of Abia North rather than engaging in 2027 politics.
Senator Kalu stated:
“Abia North: My focus right now is not on the politics of 2027 but on the people of Abia North Senatorial District and how to improve their lives because there is hunger in the land. I can’t be talking about politics when my people are hungry.
“Though I appreciate all the endorsements from our people at home and abroad, we still have the mandate given to us in 2023.
“My priority at the moment is to deliver more dividends of democracy, put smiles on the faces of my people, and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other patriotic Nigerians in tackling the issues affecting the progress of our great nation.”
Reacting to this, Prof. Ukairo insisted that Senator Kalu’s unprecedented achievements in Abia North make him the undeniable choice for 2027.
Ukairo said: “Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has done what no one has done before in the history of Abia North Senatorial District. From building roads to the reconstruction of classrooms and many more. Even in my community in Abia Ohafia, we couldn’t travel without pains due to lack of accessibility. But it’s a different story today.”
Declaring that Kalu remains the people’s choice, Ukairo reaffirmed:
“There is no vacancy in Abia North in 2027. The entire Abia State is speaking with one voice that he is our consensus candidate in 2027. The youths, women, traditional, political, and religious leaders are urging him to go again in 2027 due to his outstanding personality and performance.”
