At the World Press Conference which held earlier, H.E Atiku Abubakar, GCON made the following recommendations that Nigeria’s electoral reforms should mandate electronic voting, ensure election disputes are settled before winner inaugurations, necessitate a 50% +1 vote for presidential candidates or a run-off, adopt a single six-year presidential term rotated among regions, require INEC to verify and highlight candidates’ credential discrepancies, invalidate candidates with false documents, uphold INEC’s rules in courts, and introduce transparency in judicial processes, including judge evaluations.
The goal is to bolster electoral confidence and uphold voter representation.
